New project!

I've a lovely new project to start - to turn around a tired dining room into a fabulous, glam entertaining space for a stylish career girl! It's a new home for the client so she is keen to put her stamp on it! She loves a good deal like me - so this is going to be a great budget team effort!

On having a look at the space initially, the client had sourced an amazing black dining glass table from a store that was closing down so she got a great deal to take it away. (see - always be on the look out and pics to follow!) I knew as soon as I saw the table she chose - that the perfect seating would be of course, the inspired ghost-style chairs in clear!

The actual 'ghost' chairs by designer Philipe Stark are very expensive each - around £237. There are some great 'inspired' designs from the high street that are much more affordable, my client went a step further and found a set of 4 in an online selling site from a home owner for an amazing price, but more on that later! So I've found a few to show you from the high street to give you some ideas and I've pulled some images from pinterest to give you some creative thought too!

Above is a picture of the Philipe Stark for Kartell Louis 'Ghost' chair - retailing at £237 each

My client is very stylish - so we are about to start designing the space to get ready in time for seasonal entertaining so I'm going to get back to my mood board presentation for her and hope you enjoy the inspiration so far!

Where to find 'inspired' Ghost chair designs from online & high street:

This chair above, is available from Lakeland Furniture priced from £74.99 to now, £69.99 each.

So here is a pic above, of the chairs my client sourced in an online sale site. I am the biggest fan of all online sale sites - as you can always find what you are after at a more realistic price if you look hard enough and long enough. I went with my client to see the chairs at the weekend to the home where she bought them from. My client wasn't sure what to look for in terms of the design or condition so I accompanied her to view them. I offered 2 tips - always look at the legs and feet of any chairs you are buying, all 4 of these chairs had perfect legs and screwed protectors on - and check for wearability - sit on them!!! So we checked these out before she bought them - and got the set of 4 for just £100!!!! An amazing find, and a perfect set of 4 for her new dining space. Here is a peek of her bargain table too!

I will be keeping you updated on the progress, ideas and purchases for this exciting home project! If you have any home related questions on how to get the look for less - ask me!
