Shearer Candles #shearerheaven

The amazing team at Shearer Candles in Glasgow invited me to spend an afternoon with them at their showroom & factory to see where all the magic is made from my favourite candle company. My love affair with Shearer started a long time ago. Like so long ago before Instagram was even on the scene so could you imagine how I felt being invited to go to the candle kingdom? gulp!

I've been burning their amazing scents for years but it took a serious turn years ago when they designed Amber Noir and I was hooked. Candles, tealights and diffusers - I bought everything that this scent is made on and my Christmas routine was born. Amber Noir has been the start of Christmas so again this year will be the same come this weekend (I decided this is when I'm putting the tree up so of course I need our home to smell fabulous) and the start of again my everlasting love for this joy that one candle can bring.

I was so excited even standing in the car park outside Shearer HQ and oh my goodness I had to stop myself from running in and exclaiming 'I'm here!!!!!!' like some fangirl. My life has been all about Interiors, design, styling, merchandising, candles and everything home related so this really was my own Charlie Bucket moment.

As soon as you step in you know it's going to be amazing with the beautiful aromas of their new scents burning in the showroom, I wondered how I was going to leave with only 2 arms to carry everything I already wanted to buy without even starting the tour by fabulous Creative Director Rosie Barnet. Rosie was so welcoming, warm, inviting, funny and so informative on the family production processes and techniques that still run in HQ since the company started in 1897. I got a peek into production, testing, design and marketing with Rosie being the ultimate guide with such passion about the company I didn't want to leave as I realised not only are the products amazing but it's also a super place to work.

In marketing I got the chance to ask the team about new scents, Christmas fragrances, designs and popular loved choices. Of course I instantly fell in love with the entire range for winter time. The scent of smoked diamonds (like a sexy sister to Amber Noir) had to be my choice to burn at my wedding reception. The on trend design of the glass holder to the amazing burn, I knew it would be perfect for such an event and all my guests commented on how gorgeous our home smelled the whole day. Also I loved Glowing Embers, as the team affectionately call a 'Mandle' - a candle & scent perfect for a man. So true to that, I also burned Glowing Embers in another room at my wedding and the guys all commented on how great that room smelled.....! So ladies, a brilliant and cool choice for christmas pressies for your hubby and boyfriends if they love candles!

There is an old saying - 'never meet your idols' but on this occasion I was totally blown away with a brand I had been in love with and had been supporting for years as it's a Glasgow based business who just happen to make the dreamiest candles and home scents and have a great team behind the brand.  Please go to their website if you are reading this and have not heard of them before, and you'll be able to experience virtually what I'm speaking of and their products are so well priced, treat yourself!!!!!! Or if you are in Glasgow - visit their Princes Square showroom or visit their boutique store on Byres Road (which I regularly empty out as well as bank balance!)

One thing is for sure, Shearer Candles have been the start of making such lovely Christmas memories for me in the past, and now wedding memories and I'm sure a lot more in the future so go on, start some new cosy Shearer memories yourself - you'll be in heaven!
