A look into the design of Glasgow's best places to shop is back!
Today I had the pleasure of visiting one of THE most exciting gift shops I've been in anywhere in a long time. Iconic print designer Stephen O'Neil's fabulous shop in the heart of Shawlands, is just 6 months old but is fast gaining the reputation of being one of the coolest shopping destinations in Glasgow.
It's a beauty of a shop front, designed by Stephen himself with it's unique wooden fascia board, making it stand out by walking, bus or by car! The bright, contemporary window displays make everything pop out to you as a customer, so I could not wait to get inside!
You will know print maker Stephen's famous stylish designs of Glasgow landmarks and produce on art, prints, mugs cards and more. Now, as his designs are recognised everywhere from Glasgow to all around the world - his new store delivers his full collections (wow!!!) and also stocks unique collections from designers in Scotland and worldwide bringing exclusive ranges of cushions, mugs candles, notebooks, jewellery, cards and accessories.
The design and feel of the shop is sleek and stylish, with a great layout and shopping experience for customers and kids. It's lovely to see also a team taking careful consideration for wheelchair access and shopping with buggies too as well as being dog friendly in their store design set up and merchandising.
There are quirky touches all over in the displays in store - with vintage units sourced and styled by Stephen's wife louise, who informs me, the cabinet below, is from Glasgow's Love Salvage.
The store stocks a gorgeous range of letterpress cards & stationery, alongside a fantastic range of Stephen's art, prints and screen prints, mounted and framed editions are all available in store. I LOVED the caramel wafer framed screen print (£180) and also was so taken with the print, below, of the Battlefield Rest (A favourite restaurant of mine!)
Stephen's work is available in all forms - from badges, mugs, cards, coasters, prints and framed screen prints - snap his current collection up now before every visitor to the Edinburgh festival does as he has a pop up store there too, nestled in the heart beat of the fringe madness!
The attention to detail in the shop's design is clever, with Stephen designing a matching till point to the outside fascia, so it brings the shop brand together perfectly. It's a beautiful, playful, gorgeous shop full of inspiration on every level, thanks to the visual styling and product buying of Louise and Stephen, which makes this a great shopping experience on every level! Go visit!
