I have been obsessed with the House of Dior of many, many years now. I am lucky to own several pieces of Dior Jewellery, beautiful Dior books, love their lip glosses and hope to one day own a Dior dress. So I have been counting down the days until the new Dior film opened in the UK - and yesterday was it!!! I had a ticket for the first showing in Glasgow at the GFT, and the film did not disappoint. It follows the journey of the newly appointed creative director, Raf Simmons, who in his design life has never worked in couture, and his first job was having just 8 weeks to design a whole collection for Couture on camera. Jaw dropping yes, but it's a clever insight into how the Ateliers and Premieres are just as important to Dior as Raf's (sometimes very emotional) vision is. I loved it. I want to see it again, as visually there is so much to take in on screen. A must for fashionistas!!!
This is the show which resulted in the hard work and lots of tears documented in the film. A truly beautiful work of art.
